Vintage Volkstedt Dresden Porcelain Figural Group German. Style: Baroque or Rococo after 18th century porcelain. Origin: Germany, Thuringia 20th century. Technique: Completely hand crafted and painted. Condition: Good some lace damage and wear commensurate with age, the flowers on the base replaced, not visible with the bare eye.

Vintage Volkstedt Porcelain figural group. Large and impressive porcelain figural grouping. Comprising a family in late 18th century attire making merry in their parlor around a harpsicord. The rocaille scroll base with gilt highlights. To the front a triple fleur-de-lis oval cartouche Coat of arms of the Kings of France.

Each figure finely hand crafted en painted. The base with gilt highlights and Dresden lace porcelain trimmed garments.

Width 23.5in - 59cm. Height 13.5 in - 34cm. Volkstedt porcelain manufactory sited in Rudolstadt, Thuringia, Germany, was the earliest porcelain manufactory in Thuringia. It was in business as the "Oldest Volkstedt Porcelain Manufactory" The porcelain factory was founded in 1760 by the porcelain maker Georg Heinrich Macheleid (1723 -1801) Volkstedt gained a reputation for its finely painted and carefully modelled porcelain figures that it holds for collectors today.
