Vintage Goebel Ceramic Bird Figurine Blue Jay Porcelain Limited Edition Germany

  
The biggest (9,2 inches tall) and the most detailed of the several Eurasian Blue Jays produced by Goebel HUMMEL, Germany. Featured perched on a leafy tree stump, covered with high gloss glaze, the hand made bird looks extremely realistic, thanks to a very detailed modelling and hand painting in vivid realistic colours. Modelled by Gerard Bochmann, a famous German modeller.

This figurine was produced in 1968 in limited edition, part of the long established Goebel HUMMEL "Bird of The Year" initiative. Every year one bird that is especially worth protecting is selected for a figurine production and part of the sales go towards that species protection. Stamped to the bottom with incised item number - CV 94, incised production date - 1968 and blue Goebel W. The figurine is in an excellent original condition, with no chips, cracks or wear. 9,2 in in / 23 cm.
