Antique Sitzendorf German Porcelain Figurine
This beautiful hand-painted porcelain figurine was created by the Sitzendorf Porzellanmanufaktur and dates to the early 1900's. In 1760, the first porcelain factory was established. It was moved to Volkstedt in 1762. By 1809, the company had a second factory and had introduced steam power that helped them employ a total of 300 employees in two factories in a town with a population of 700. The factory remains in operation into the present. As you can see, it is highly detailed and has the most amazing colors!
It stands roughly 8 3/4" tall and is around 5" in diameter. The condition of this piece is EXCELLENT. I see no cracks, chips, flakes or repairs.
The intricate petals to the flowers are intact and the hand-painted details are bright and colorful. If you collect fine German porcelain, especially Sitzendorf, this figurine would make a worthy addition to your collection!
