Antique German Dresden Potschappel Mythological Figure Women Putti Candle Holder

  
A Beautiful, Early 1900's German, Dresden Potschappel, Porcelain Candle Holder with a Mythological Grouping of two women holding a sway of roses and a Putti at their feet. It's highly detailed with the applied porcelain flowers and leaves. And, this piece was made so that it could be a lamp base or candle holder and it was turned into a candle holder. You can see the hole on the bottom where the wire/cord would have been inserted and when you look under the candle holder, you can see the neck has porcelain grooves/threading where a fixture would have been attached had it been a lamp (all shown in the images).

Also, you can see the glue from where they attached the candle holder section, this is not a repair, this is factory original to when it was made. It measures 11-3/8" tall to the top of the candle holder x 1-1/4" across the top opening of the candle holder x 5 across the bottom base. The bottom is stamped in blue with the Potschappel Dresden Backstamp and in the Circle is Bauernland, Hand Painted, Dresden Saxony. There is a small chip along the back tip one leaf on the candle holder, and another teeny nick along the edge of a flower.

Also the woman on the right is missing her left foot, but as you can see from the many images, it does not detract from the beauty of this piece. Thank you for supporting our small business!
