Antique 1930's German Wooly Sheep with Santa, Vintage Putz or Christmas Nativity

  
Great old Santa riding a large 5 inch German sheep. Overall height of 6 1/2 inches.

Santa has red felt suit, hand painted clay face, cotton beard and composite boots. He is holding a goose feather Christmas tree. He's approximately 4 1/2 inches tall. Santa has no marks of origin.

1930's German wooly sheep, nice large size of approximately 5 inches tall and 4 1/2 inches long. Really nice hand painted face. Retains original paper collar, marked GERMANY.

Wooden stick legs, "wool" over wood body, and head is composition covered in gesso and hand painted. Tip of ears are chipped.

Stick legs have wear and loss of paint. Good vintage condition with overall wear and soiling.

Sheep has overall soiling and some stains. Santa's face is worn and beard has darkened with age. One boot is broken at top. Chenille trim is coming loose from suit.
