This figurine was created by the Schneiders factory in Grafenthal, Germany. The hallmark is the impressed and uncrowned'G' mark with the double-headed arrow and "DEP", which was used from 1879 to 1886. Also impressed on the bottom are "Germany" and the number "12513".
This exquisite piece is a family heirloom in perfect condition and has never been used, only kept on display. It is crafted in bisque porcelain, painted in delicate pastel tones of very light green, violet and beige. The subject is most probably a mythological scene, a young woman holding a mandolin and sitting on the bench near an urn, on what seems to be a fountain's basin rim, which is flanked by a dragon. The level of detail and the face expression are exquisitely executed.
