White Porcelain Vintage Nymphenburg Leaping Deer or Elk Stag. Very, Very Scarce Statue with Great Display Appeal. Nymphenburg Marks (1064a over a 9 or g) & Frankenthal Crown & CT Marking. Approx: 6.75" High x 6.25" Long x 2.25 Wide at base.

Lovely Statue featuring a leaping (hunted) deer or elk stag that makes a perfect display piece. The elegant white porcelain and fine crafting to the piece really give it a bold presence as shown in pictures.

The sculpture is in very good condition, but has one blip to a single antler (as shown in pictures), but it does not really effect the sculpture's overall appeal in a major way. We are not sure of the exact age of this work, but believe it is 1966 as the numbers under the CT mark may be a date. We have access to extensive research resources and still could only locate a few of these that have appeared on the open market in decades, but if anyone knows more, feel free to share. The only information we could find on this piece is that it was made by Nymphenburg as part of a hunting scene series with several sculptures around the mid century.

The original series (per the online sources) was made by Frankenthal in the previous century. If you look at the pictures in the photo gallery you can see the piece is stamped once on the bottom and once on front with the Nymphenburg shield and other numbers. Also, it has the blue CT and Crown from Frankenthal and a number 7966 or 1966 (more likely).
