(sergeant chief of sappers) in the elite 30th Dragoon Regiment. The soldier sits atop a large white horse with gray markings. The finely sculpted and painted details of this figurine typify the magnificent artistry for which Karl Kuntzsch and the Dresden factory were famous for. This large figurine stands about 14 7/8" tall (to top of hat plume) and measures approximately 12" long (from end of horse's nose to tip of tail).
The back of the base is marked with the Dresden SP Thieme mark (see photo). I don't see any markings underneath, except for the hand-painted number "74" (in red).
It's guaranteed to be a genuine antique Dresden piece and not a reproduction. Condition of this Dresden military figurine is EXCELLENT. I've inspected it very carefully and I can find no chips, cracks, or repairs. This piece was obviously well cared for and it's remarkable that it survived all these years without damage. This incredibly detailed figurine looks fantastic and displays beautifully. It would make a fine addition to any collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. This figurine is quite scarce and I only found one other example pictured online.
